Don't worry! If physio isn't your best bet I will happily pass you along to a trusted trainer, doctor or psychologist. If you're in need of physio and some other services, I can also recommend who else might be best to bring into your health-care team.
Not at ALL. One of the best parts of the job is showing people their potential, in bite-sized chunks. If you're nervous about the gym for whatever reason, let me walk you through it step-by-step until you're ready.
Staying active is so important for your body, your mind and your overall health. We will plan to best maintain your activity levels, whether that's 'business as usual' with a few added tweaks, or if the 'work smarter not harder' level is where you're at. On the rare occasion that it's 'complete rest' for a body part, there are plenty of other ways to get that heart rate up and those endorphins flowing using whatever parts of your body are up for it.
Most medical conditions have a few considerations for exercise, but they're guidelines. If I don't know how best to serve you and your unique condition, I will find out! I make a habit on consulting the medical literature and experts for my client's best interests, in addition to regular continual professional development. I also work with a great team who all have their own niches, and we work collaboratively pretty often.
Chances are, probably yes! Drop me a line on the Contact Us page to find out for sure. Even if it's a rare condition I haven't heard of before (which has happened!), I will do my due diligence and consult the medical evidence to get you what you need.
Again, probably. If it's new to me then I'll spend some time on YouTube watching some movement patterns, speak to some colleagues and consult the medical literature on best practice. Bear with me whilst I ask silly questions around how long the game is and how often you train, I'm learning!
I have extensive experience looking after those people who live with mental illness, both in acute illness and in long-term management. There is excellent evidence to support movement and exercise for improving mental illness symptoms and boosting the effects of other therapies. Not to mention the added benefits of decreasing medication and electrotherapy side-effects, managing your general health & improving sleep quality.
Of course you can! We have a HICAPS machine, and if you've forgotten your card we can send you the invoice that you can submit for a rebate after the fact. If you want to know how much you'll be rebated, check your policy or call your provider.
Not a problem! When you book, just let us know and we will give you a run down on the information we need. This won't change the appointment length or quality of care that you get.
If you've never claimed before through that funding body, don't worry - I have, and I'll guide you every step of the way. I'm more than happy to spend some time guiding you through paperwork, who to talk to and what to expect.
Nope! WorkCover allows me to 'hold' your account. The invoices just wait until it's either approved and the invoices are paid, or declined and we set up a payment plan you can work with.
Some businesses choose to operate their own self-insured WorkCover programs. The list of business can be found here: https://www.worksafe.qld.gov.au/claims-and-insurance/self-insurance/list-of-self-insured-employers
It doesn't change the way you're looked after, just where the treatment plans and invoices get sent off to. Let me know who I need to talk to on your behalf and I'll do the rest.
